| The councilor for Public Roads, Juan Pedro Torralba, has supervised the installation of the stalls and compliance with security measures | The Cénit street market, which is traditionally installed every Wednesday on Ribera de San Javier street in Cartagena, has reopened today to 100% of its capacity, thanks to the provisional measures adopted by the Cartagena City Council that has expanded the space so that all the stalls could be installed, complying with the distance decreed by the health authorities.The Councilor for Public Roads, Juan Pedro Torralba, supervised this morning the installation of the different stalls to ensure that all safety measures for vendors and customers were respected.

"The day has passed with total normality and the vendors have been able to set up their respective stalls in the assigned places.

After almost 3 months without being able to carry out its activity, we believe that expanding its spaces and allowing the installation of all the stalls has been the best decision.

Now more than ever, street vendors need our help and we will do everything in our power to refloat their businesses, "said the mayor.In addition to the expansion of spaces to guarantee social distancing, the City Council has made a special reinforcement with an increase in the number of Local Police and Civil Protection, along with Red Cross volunteers, prepared to attend to any citizen who requires it.

"We have made an important reinforcement of security measures, with a greater allocation of Local Police and Civil Protection, in addition to providing both hydroalcoholic gel and masks to users and vendors who need them," said Torralba.DONATION OF HYDROALCOHOLIC GEL FROM THE COMPANY VERTEX BIOENERGYIn order to distribute both the gel and the masks between citizens and vendors, both in this and in other markets, the generosity of some companies installed in Cartagena has been essential, such as the one that has taken place today by Vertex Bioenergy.Councilor Juan Pedro Torralba has come this morning to the doors of the company, located in the Escombreras Valley, to collect the donation of more than 1,440 liters of hydroalcoholic gel.

"We are very grateful to Joaquín Rodríguez, director of Spanish Ecocarburantes of Vertex Bioenergy, and to Ascensión Barahona, head of Quality, Environment and Corporate Social Responsibility, for the 1,440 liters of hydroalcoholic gel that they donated this morning and that we will take care of distributing in the markets, in addition to equipping our Local Police, Fire and Civil Protection personnel, ”said Torralba.
