The UPCT School of Industrial Engineering organizes its first Olympiad to promote its degrees (02/06/2020)

The best students will have free tuition and financial aid | On June 18, the UPCT's Higher Technical School of Industrial Engineering (ETSII) will hold the First Industrial Engineering Olympiad in the Region in order to promote the academic degrees it teaches among Baccalaureate students.The first edition will be online and will be held through the UPCT Virtual Classroom due to the situation caused by Covid-19.The Industrial Engineering Olympiad will be aimed at first and second year Bachillerato students from institutes throughout the Region of Murcia and neighboring provinces.In it, explains the director of the UPCT School of Industrial Engineering, Patricio Franco, the knowledge of young people in the five subjects that are most related to the degrees taught at the UPCT School of Industrial Engineering will be evaluated , "With the aim of promoting the ideal access profile for our undergraduate degrees".Thus, the students who participate in this Olympiad will face a series of questions on five subjects such as Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Drawing and Industrial Technology according to the topics studied up to the course in which they are, according to José Damián Catalá , professor at the UPCT School of Industrial Engineering and coordinator of the tests.The objective is, points out the director of the School of Industrial Engineering, to promote the study of university degrees in the field of industrial engineering, such as degrees in electrical engineering, electronic and industrial electronic engineering, mechanical engineering, chemical industrial engineering and engineering.

in industrial technologies, as well as new degrees in biomedical engineering and engineering in industrial design and product development "which we also hope to start teaching this next course if the verification process from ANECA is completed on time," adds Patricio Franco.The prizes to be awarded include free enrollment in the degrees of the School of Industrial Engineering, as well as additional financial aid for the first three classified.In addition, the schools that have obtained the best scores will receive financial aid.The evaluation committee is made up of professors from the UPCT Industrial School who teach about the topics to be valued, and teachers from secondary education in the technology specialty.This initiative is organized by the UPCT School of Industrial Engineering, and has the collaboration of the Association of Technology Teachers of the Region of Murcia (ATECMUR), Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia, Official College of Industrial Engineers of the Murcia Region, Official College of Industrial Technical Engineers of the Murcia Region and Repsol Cartagena Industrial Complex.
