Cartagena Puerto de Culturas returns on Friday June 5 (29/05/2020)

| During the month of June the Roman Forum will open on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m.

to 8 p.m.

The choice of this site for its opening next week is motivated by the spaciousness of its spaces and the possibility of making safe entry and exit routes for visitors.

The first opening weekend will be extended to Monday and Tuesday as it is a regional bridge.

The fee is reduced to 4 euros and to 8 euros the joint entrance with the Roman Theater Museum.In this first phase, only individual visits will be allowed without being able to take guided tours or any other on-site cultural activity.

Tactile museum elements such as audio guide services or apps and explanatory brochures will be disabled.

In the case of brochures, QR codes will be made available to the public for consultation.

Likewise, the online sale of tickets through the web will be promoted.

For this reopening, the corresponding measures have been taken against the Covid-19 health crisis, incorporating the new health security protocols recommended by the competent authorities, both for visitors and for the personnel of Cartagena Puerto de Culturas.The capacity has been reduced to 1/3 in a first phase, coinciding with the first fortnight of June and in the last two weeks to expand it to 50%.

The public will have visible indications both outside and inside the spaces to determine the conditions and guidelines to follow: mandatory use of a mask, maintenance of safety distance, use of hydroalcoholic gel at reception and other necessary resources for a safe visit.

In addition, the staff will have personal protective equipment to ensure their safety such as face masks and screens. During the time that the closure of the centers, museums and sites of Cartagena Puerto de Culturas lasted, cleaning and disinfection tasks have been intensified, works that will continue when the sites are in operation to guarantee proper hygiene.

Similarly, the maintenance and conservation of the remains have continued.

Social networks have been promoted as an open window to the rich heritage of the city, with varied resources for all kinds of audiences: coloring or activities for the little ones, small pieces of history, images and videos of museums and sites, as well as advances in the future Museum of the Roman Forum for the elderly.The activity has been very intense which has led to an increase in the reach of publications by 70% and to add more than 500 followers to the three social networks in which it has a profile: Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.

The Cartagena Congress Office has also opted for a series of talks with experts in tourism and in the congress sector.
