Check-up to medical offices for its progressive reopening with all sanitary guarantees (29/05/2020)

| Cabo de Palos and Los Nietos will resume their services this Monday, June 1 | The City Council of Cartagena and the Murcian Health Service (SMS) have carried out this week a check-up of all medical offices for their progressive reopening with all sanitary guarantees.

In this way, municipal technicians and Area II Health have reviewed the facilities one by one to see the needs individually in order to recover their activity and add to their services the fight against the coronavirus.

The inspections carried out have also been attended by the Deputy Mayor and Councilor for the Health Area, Manuel Padín, as well as various presidents of neighborhood councils.The check-up has focused on those centers potentially in a position to reopen their doors, provided that the sanitary and personnel measures established by the SMS are complied with.According to the report of the technicians, in the offices of Isla Plana, Llano del Beal, La Manga and Los Nietos it will be necessary to install a screen that differentiates two areas of care so that patients who have symptoms compatible with the coronavirus, once the triage, they can stay in a room isolated from other users.

In the centers of La Puebla and La Aparecida a major work will be carried out to allow access to these isolated rooms from the outside.

La Vaguada will also need reforms.However, once these arrangements have been completed, the offices will not open until the SMS has completed the study of the necessary personnel in each center for optimal service.As for the reopening calendar, on Monday June 1 the Cabo de Palos and Los Nietos offices will resume their services, which will join the already open ones in El Albujón, La Aljorra, Miranda, Polígono de Santa Ana, La Palma, Los Belones and Quarries.

In this way, these will be 9 open clinics in the current phase of coexistence with Covid-19 in which health care is being reorganized to guarantee the safety of professionals and patients.

The measures adopted include double access circuits to consultations and double sanitary equipment for the care of respiratory patients and patients with other pathologies.Meanwhile, there are other facilities for which no opening is planned, such as in Lomas del Albujón, Santa Ana, Los Mateos, Vista Alegre, Alumbres, Playa Honda-Playa Paraíso, Isla Menores, Los Urrutias, La Manga, Perín, La Azohía , Isla Plana, Tallante, Ports of Santa Barbara, Cuesta Blanca, La Magdalena and San Isidro.

However, the Ministry of Health and the Department of Health continue to coordinate to continue reopening the clinics as determined by the competent health authorities.
