| Iberdrola has resumed the works that will allow the transfer of the Misericordia transformation center, after the stoppage by the Alarm State | Iberdrola has resumed the relocation works of the Misericordia transformation center, whose development was interrupted due to the Alarm State.
This transfer will make it possible to complete the construction of the new area for pedestrian use, located in the plaza on Calle Sor Francisca Armendáriz, in the vicinity of Calle Villalba Larga, La Gloria, San Cristóbal and Yeseros.
The Cartagena City Council, through the Casco Antiguo municipal society, is investing more than 350,000 euros."The transfer work will have an estimated duration of three weeks.
Once they are finished, the old transformation center will be demolished and the remodeling works will continue, which are already in their final phase ”, explained the councilor for Public Roads, Juan Pedro Torralba. The street will have about 2,000 square meters in length, which is already paved, and of which 1,200 will be mixed pedestrian areas.
The rest will be a green area, an accessible pedestrian route and an ornamental fountain.
In addition, it will also include a children's play area.
The works have suffered some previous delays due to the discovery of a Roman pool, and later by the Alarm State."The completion of these works will allow the city center to have a new recreation area.
This work marks the beginning of the comprehensive recovery plan for the old town.
In fact, the Water Monitoring Commission gave the green light for Saura streets and Subida San Diego streets to be remodeled, ”the mayor concluded.
