The Equality campaign to commemorate the Day of the Romani Resistance reaches more than 14,000 people (18/05/2020)

The seven videos that make up the campaign have already reached a total of 14,306 people and, as of today, accumulate 1,432 interactions.As it has been verified in the subsequent analysis of the networks, the monitoring of the videos has transcended the national scope reaching more than twenty countries, among which are Portugal, France, United Kingdom, Peru, Chile, Uruguay, Mexico , Italy, Argentina, Brazil, Germany, the United States, Belgium, Slovakia, Morocco, Switzerland, Ecuador, Colombia and the Netherlands.As recalled by the Councilor for Equality, David Martínez Noguera, the campaign was focused on eliminating the stigmas and prejudices that fall on gypsy women, as well as promoting the recognition of the figures of the gypsy resistance and their contributions, which have been invisible in textbooks.

"We are very happy with the dissemination that this campaign has had, first because they deserve it and second because it was a great commitment from our Department to give visibility to a topic that is hardly worked on at the national level and never from the institutional sphere," explained.It should be noted that one of the videos, on May 12, managed to reach 6,000 views.

“We have managed to viralize messages against xenophobia and in which we completely dismantle hoaxes and prejudices about people of the gypsy ethnic group.

In addition, we have been able to maintain interest for a week, which is usually very difficult, so we are very proud of what we have achieved and eager to continue working with them, "said the councilman.Regarding the type of people in whom the campaign has aroused the most interest, 73% are women and the majority of them between the ages of 35 and 44.
