The voting for the Mandarache Hache Prize begins (15/05/2020)

| From May 15 to 28, six thousand young people from three Cartagenas are preparing to fail the literary prize with the world's largest jury | The world's largest literary jury is preparing to fail the 2020 Mandarache and Hache Awards, organized by the Department of Youth of the Cartagena City Council in order to promote reading habits.

These are almost six thousand young readers who from May 15 at 10 a.m.

to May 28 at 8 p.m.

will vote democratically the winners of these awards through the project website www.premiomandarache.cartagena.esThroughout the 2019/2020 school year thousands of young people, organized in reading committees, have read the finalist works and have had the opportunity to meet their authors.

Samanta Schweblin, Miguel Ángel Hernández and Tina Vallčs compete for the 2020 Mandarache Prize.

For his part, the Hache Prize, the youth category of the project, is played between Llanos Campos, Eloy Moreno and David Lozano.

Except for Tina Vallčs, whose meetings have been held electronically due to the health crisis, all authors have had the opportunity to visit Cartagena and present their works to thousands of participating readers and now they must submit to the will of this massive literary democracy.The jury of the Mandarache 2020 Prize specifically is made up of 3,669 young people between 15 and 30 years old, organized in 630 reading committees from more than twenty secondary schools and three universities.

In addition, for four years, the Orillas Mandarache initiative was launched, together with the readers of Cartagena in Spain and one hundred and twenty students from Cartagena de Indias in Colombia and another one hundred and twenty from Cartagena in Chile read and vote for this award: an international jury of young readers of Cartagenas of the world.

For its part, the Hache Prize has 326 reading committees in which 1,956 adolescents between 12 and 14 years old participate.

In total, 5,625 young people organized in 956 reading committees make up the jury for the Mandarache and Hache 2020 Awards.
