The coronavirus, the situation of justice, the castle of Los Moros, the inclusive pedestrian crossings and the school transport of the IES Bohío, attract the unanimity of the Corporation (30/04/2020)

| The Cartagena City Council celebrates a new blended and marathon plenary session morning and afternoon | The councilmen of the Cartagena City Council have again held a new marathon session of about eight hours in duration, in morning and afternoon sessions, in which the unanimity of the Corporation with respect to motions regarding the situation of the justice in Cartagena, the restoration of the castle of Los Moros, the creation of inclusive pedestrian crossings and the transportation of students from the Instituto de El Bohío.The meeting, chaired by the mayor, Ana Belén Castejón, was attended by 10 of the 27 councilors at the Consistorial Palace; the rest have followed the evolution of the plenary session via videoconference and the initiatives have been voted on electronically.At the beginning, the mayor invited to observe a minute of silence, as a sign of respect and support for the deceased and those suffering from the coronavirus, and reported on the decree confirming the monitoring of the official mourning established by the Autonomous Community since April 3 and announced the celebration of a tribute to victims and professionals once the situation has been overcome.In the section on motions, the Corporation has unanimously approved a motion presented by MC Cartagena to demand from the Ministry of Justice and the Superior Court of Justice the material means and infrastructures claimed by Cartagena professionals and that the Justice Table be convened to deal with the status of priority issues, such as the location of the new judicial units and the status of the City of Justice project and achieve a common position against the provincial courts.On the part of the Government, the councilor Alejandra Gutiérrez has reported the situation of the efforts that have been made in this regard, especially with the Ministries of Justice and Defense, but which were interrupted by the coronavirus crisis and will resume in brief. Likewise, another motion by Mc Cartagena has been unanimously approved, urging the creation of a protection environment for the Castillo de Los Moros and for the works and conservation required by the monument to avoid its collapse.In this regard, the municipal government, through the councilor Alejandra Gutiérrez has explained that since last November there have been meetings with professionals and scholars to undertake these actions, there is a project that includes conducting geotechnical surveys and replacement and reconstruction work.
