Education encourages schoolchildren to create a collective diary of their experiences during confinement (24/04/2020)

| Children will be able to express their feelings during the state of alarm or how they prepare for their first outings through videos, drawings or letters | Given the current exceptional situation, as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, the Department of Education of the City of Cartagena has launched the initiative 'Diario Escolares con Ideas', with which they propose to the students of educational centers of all the municipality the elaboration of a newspaper of this unusual time.

A diary allows past moments to be captured in words or images to be able to see or read them later, recalling those moments."We believe that it can be motivating, fun and even therapeutic for our minors to be able to express themselves during these days, through a collective diary in which they can send a letter, a drawing, a poem, a thought, a video ...

Any way they have to express their feelings and emotions, "said the Councilor for Education, Irene Ruiz. The mayor has invited schoolchildren to tell how they have been these days without leaving home, but also how they prepare to start taking to the streets, after allowing the Government of Spain walks for minors up to 14 years old, accompanied by an adult, starting next Sunday."They can tell us how they prepare that first trip, with whom they will do it and their feelings, but also capture, after returning from that first walk, how they have felt and how they have appreciated their street and their neighborhood," said Irene Ruiz, before encourage small Cartagenans to "express themselves and discover how other children are living this period".Minors who want to participate can already send their ideas through the web where, in addition, they will be able to read the contributions of other boys and girls.

After the end of the state of alarm, the documents that make up this exceptional newspaper will be kept in the municipal archives, so that they can be consulted in the future and learn, from the hand of the small Cartagena, how they have lived through these weeks of confinement.
