Vía Pública takes advantage of the reduced traffic to carry out minor works (24/04/2020)

These weeks we are working on the Santa Ana Industrial Estate, they will continue in El Bohío and also in Los Dolores, where the horizontal signage is being repainted.In the coming weeks, these same works will also begin in Vista Alegre, Media Legua and Alumbres, among others.

Later, the teams will continue in the center of Cartagena, covering the area that starts from Reina Victoria Avenue with Ángel Bruna Street to Pintor Portela Avenue, also the area that runs from the Mandarache Shopping Center to Jacinto Benavente Street, and that that connects Plaza Puertas San José with the Port.In addition, these repainting tasks will also be carried out in the area that ranges from the Sports Palace to the El Portús junction and will also begin shortly in Cabo de Palos and Mar Menor.As for new signs, a new pedestrian crossing has been made on the Subida al Faro de Cabo de Palos street and a report has already been prepared for two flyovers to be carried out, which are under contract, located on Calle Santiago, next to the Los Nietos school.For its part, it is responding to requests that residents of the entire municipal area of ??Cartagena have been making regarding vertical signage.On the other hand, spaces have been reserved at the entrances of the doctor's offices as well as signs for ambulances have been placed on their doors to facilitate the transfer of patients."For the moment, we want to take advantage of the fact that these weeks we are having less traffic to carry out the small works necessary in the municipality, such as replacement of vertical traffic signs or repainting of horizontal signs," explained the councilor for Public Roads, Juan Pedro Torralba, who has assured that they are working with prudence, and "although progress is slower, it is important to comply with the rules and measures to avoid contagion and, therefore, different teams of two people are working."Torralba explained that “the City Council does not stop working.
