[13.04.20] The board of directors of the association "Colectivo GALACTYCO", organizing entity of ENORGULLECT, has unanimously decided to SUSPEND all the activities scheduled for this edition.
"We are clear that now, the health and safety of people is the priority, and therefore, we decided to suspend the ENORGULLECT due to the exceptional circumstances that are being experienced," says the president of the GALACTYCO Collective, Alberto Alba.
For his part, the voice of communication of the Cartagena association, José María García, points out that "if we have experienced anything in the LGTBI community it has been especially beaten and stigmatized, and despite the inconveniences, we have managed to get ahead with resilience. We also want publicize our will and collective responsibility to help curb this new health crisis. "
From GALACTYCO they want to send a message of encouragement to the entire population and especially to those who are in a situation of special vulnerability, such as the elderly, adolescents with LGBTIphobic families, the LGBTI population living alone after having suffered the harshness of intolerance, prostitutes and sex workers, people with HIV, migrants in an irregular situation or homeless people, among others, and remember that "they can continue to contact us through the usual means".
To conclude, Alba recalls that "Pride, activism, the fight for our rights and the vindication of our dignity as people are not only the ten days in which we develop and celebrate the ENORGULLECT, but it is a work that we all do. days of the year. As for face-to-face activities, we will be programming as the return to normality develops. "
