The PSOE in Cartagena asked the government, 18 days ago, to increase the provision of the contingency fund to meet the needs derived from COVID-19

The PSOE in Cartagena feels that the municipal government team has not wanted to meet with us to contribute ideas to the budget, but notes that although they do not speak to us, they do listen to us, as evidenced by the fact that the municipal government amends its own budgets to assigning planned expenses for the Sea of ​​Music and tourism promotion to the contingency fund, since it is in line with what we have proposed to you through the media.

We believe that this is not a time to exclude anyone, least of all the party that currently governs our country.

Since we are unaware of the detail of the budgets, our opinions may be only on the data published in the media.

That is why we will wait for the budgets to be made public to do a more detailed analysis.

In any case, with the information available we can reiterate our proposal that the item of investments that are not a priority at this time would have been reduced, in favor of the item of the contingency fund.

That would have given the city council a greater margin to allocate the money to whatever was most needed, given that we are in a troubled situation.

Finally, we want to confirm that the elimination of participatory budgets shelters the participation of residents in these budgets and one of the defining elements of the electoral program with which the Mayor presented herself at the elections.
