Local Police increases controls on the coast (06/04/2020)

The Cartagena Local Police has increased controls in the coastal towns of the municipality, identifying this morning 250 people and 335 vehicles, making 24 complaints to citizens who were in populations that are not their habitual residence and, therefore, had been skipped confinement.

This measure is part of the actions implemented by the Cartagena City Council to guarantee the safety of citizens and compliance with the standards established in the State of Alarm Decree issued by the Government of Spain.

During the morning of today controls have been established in: the accesses to La Manga;

El Arbol and Mercadona establishments, in Cabo de Palos;

The Carmoli;

The grandsons;

Honda Beach and Mar de Cristal, in addition to different entrances to Cartagena and the city.

During the past weekend, 58 complaints were filed against people for moving without just cause.

The councilor for Security, Juan Pedro Torralba, recalled that confinement is mandatory and displacement is not allowed except for justified reasons, such as attending work, going shopping or health reasons.

"It is not allowed to move to second homes.

What is at stake is the health of the neighbors and we cannot tolerate that.

We call on the entire population to be responsible and we remind them that anyone who fails to comply with the regulations is being punished, â€he stressed.
