#CabildodelasMonasdesdeCasa (04/04/2020)

From the official Youtube account of the Brotherhood, the Big Brother, Ramón Pérez Saura, has addressed the white brothers, since due to the confinement the traditional town hall has not been able to be held in the UPCT Auditorium.

In his speech, Pérez Saura reviewed the most important thing that had happened to the Brotherhood since the Cabildo de Monas last year, among which Easter 2019 has stood out: “Well, as you can understand, those moments were for me, as for all of you, of great sadness.

Of great sadness because the rain, which we long for in these lands, came at the most inopportune moment.

What are we going to do to him, for everything that happens to us we have to thank God, because if at that time we were sad because our procession could not go out, we were also happy because the rain did not prevent us from celebrating what truly represents our day, the resurrection of Christ, the most important thing for Christians. â€

Likewise, he recalled that the Risen One has been the only brotherhood that has been able to carry out the central acts of his week of Lent (Youth Proclamation, Resurrexit and parade of Roman Soldiers), something that the rest of the brotherhoods had to suspend, as well as Easter processions have been suspended.

“For me, for all of us, what we are experiencing is currently difficult, but our responsibility makes us understand that it is the best we have been able to do.

Last year we suspended the procession to preserve our artistic heritage, this year we have done it to preserve a much more important heritage, to the people, to all of us, â€said the Elder Brother of the Risen One.

He also noted that "the reform and improvement of our warehouse has begun.

It has given us time to change the entire lighting system, which has improved significantly.

Similarly, we are already finishing shaping the interior reform, but it is not fully decided.

As soon as we can, we will get to work.

We also have things to do, things that have been postponed.

What we cannot determine is when, but we can be sure that we will do it â€.

Ramón thanked all the brothers of the Risen One who are working these days, “who take care of usâ€.

“For all these people I want to send, from here, our recognition and support for their work.

I hope that each of them feel the encouragement that we express to them, with our applause, messages, expressions of affection and recognition of their work.

I know that many of you are part of these groups.

Thank you very much from your brotherhood, the Brotherhood of the Risen One.

I repeat, many thanks to you and your colleagues. "

He wished that this situation does not happen again: “I am sure that this will not happen again, that next year, that we have many things to celebrate, we will do it in style.

Our procession will shine as it has not for a long time, because we celebrate something unique, the Resurrection of Christ â€.

In this way, he encouraged the resurrected brothers to participate in the brotherhood ("the groups would not exist without the brotherhood and the brotherhood would be nothing without their groups").

Unlike other years, this year no distinctions have been awarded, which will be left for other occasions.

At the end of his speech, the Big Brother invited the brothers who followed the Cabildo de Monas through the internet, to toast, as they do every year, with a sweet wine and eat the traditional monkey.

Previously, all the brother confreres had been invited to make their own monas and take photos during the council (especially during the toast) and upload them to social networks with the hashtag #cabildodelasmonasdesdecasa. Among the published photographs, there will be a draw and the prize will consist of a Soft Shell jacket and a Brotherhood polo.

Toast: “We toast because this pandemic is leaving our lives as soon as possible and, for this, we ask for the help of the Risen Christ and his Mother, the Blessed Virgin of Beautiful Love.

We toast our brotherhood and its groups, so that we continue working side by side, strengthening ties, growing as people and helping each other in everything we may need.

We toast the Holy Week in Cartagena, which will continue splendid forever and for our city and the people of Cartagena, who we know feel our Passion Week with true fervor and affection.

And we toast for all of us, for our health and well-being, especially during these days when the disease lies in wait for us very close. â€
