The PSOE in Cartagena requests the opening and full endowment of the Santa María del Rosell Hospital (03/04/2020)

The secretary general of the PSOE in Cartagena, Manuel Torres, has demanded that the Ministry of Health open the Santa María del Rosell hospital permanently and not only for the duration of the health crisis.

On the other hand, we do not believe that it is reasonable to have to depend on anonymous donations to equip and open a public hospital in an altruistic way, since it is the obligation of the Ministry of Health, not only because it concerns the duties of the council itself, but because since 2016 the Ministry of Health and the Regional Government are breaching Law 3/2016 of March 21, for the full operation of the Santa María del Rosell Hospital as a general hospital.

We also urge the Municipal Government to demand that the Ministry of Health, which is responsible for ensuring that the health facilities are perfectly equipped so that citizens can receive quality health care and not depend on charity or donations, to fight with more Firmness for the total opening of the Hospital del Rossel.

"It is not reasonable for the Ministry of Health to break the Law of total opening of the Hospital del Rossel, which has caused the inhabitants of the municipality of Cartagena to have worse healthcare," explained the PSOE general secretary in Cartagena, stressing that "It is essential to open the Rossel permanently, and after three weeks of health alert and a global pandemic, it is incomprehensible that there is a hospital center that is not 100% open to serve the population, especially when area 2 it is deficient in infrastructure and healthcare.
