Teleco LAN Party 12 will not take place.

The organizers have had to suspend the activity for this year due to the exceptional situation caused by the COVID-19 health crisis.

The Vice-rector for Students, Sergio Amat, and the coordinator of the Teleco LAN Party, Joaquín Cruces, explained during an online press conference that the suspension of the event is due to a "cause of force majeure", so it cannot be celebrate on the dates they had already planned, which would be from April 8 to 12.

And it is that the Official State Gazette (BOE) has already published the extension of the State of Alarm approved by the Congress of Deputies until next April 11.

"The decision to cancel the event for this year 2020 is marked by the exceptional situation we are experiencing these days and that is, the same causes of force majeure that lead us not to be able to hold the event on the scheduled dates prevent us from being able to plan the event on other dates within this calendar year, ensuring the quality that we consider a Teleco LAN Party should have �, explained Cruces.

Return of the tickets However, the organization will refund the users who have already bought their ticket the amount of the same.

In the next few days, a tool will be enabled through the Teleco LAN Party user portal to request a refund of the amount.

In addition, an option will be included to allow participants to decide if they want the full value of the ticket to be returned or they want to collaborate by donating part of that amount or the entire amount to associations and non-profit organizations that these days work tirelessly in support of those most affected by this Coronavirus pandemic.
