The UPCT needs velcro, gums and acetates to finish the visors that will be sent to the toilets during the COVID-19 crisis (20/03/2020)

Citizens can deposit them in the Rectorate building

The staff of the Polytechnic University of Cartagena (UPCT) involved in the AIRE project (Innovative Help to Create Respirators) to manufacture through 3D printing the sanitary material necessary during the coronavirus crisis has made an appeal through the networks social to get velcro, gums and acetates to be able to finish some protective visors.

The director of the Industrial Design and Scientific Calculation Service (SEDIC) and professor of the area of ​​Graphic Expression in Engineering, Lola Ojados, assures that "all the visors that can be printed" will be printed, which is why they need velcro of 8 mm and elastic to be able to finish them once they are printed with 3D technology.

The head of the UPCT Occupational Risk Prevention Service, Juan Romero, has also received several boxes of acetates for the visor screens.

He will be in charge of receiving the rest of the material that is needed at the Rector's Office of the UPCT.

The headquarters of the Rectorate is in the La Milagrosa building, located in the Plaza Cronista Isidoro Valverde, s / n, in Cartagena.
