The Local Police adds another 134 complaints for failing to comply with the confinement instructions since last Tuesday (20/03/2020)

The Local Police of the Cartagena City Council have processed 134 complaints since last Tuesday the 17th, for breach of the domestic confinement rules established in the State of Alarm, decreed by the Government of the Nation.

The complaints come in addition to the 31 made during the first days of the decree's validity.

The municipal agents, under the coordination of the Government Delegation in the Region of Murcia, have carried out surveillance and control tasks on public roads, ensuring that the citizens and vehicles that were traveling did so for justified reasons and in due conditions. security.

Thus, on Tuesday, March 17, a total of 384 people and 150 vehicles were identified, registering 24 complaints.

Wednesday, March 18, was the busiest day, since 1,386 people and 215 vehicles were identified, and 68 complaints were processed, including two open unauthorized premises: one for gambling and a churrería.

Finally, on Thursday 19, 235 people and 18 vehicles were controlled, with 42 complaints processed.

Among the complaints of these days, those made to 12 vehicles in which more than two people were traveling and without adequate protection measures also stand out.

Likewise, there were abundant complaints to citizens who were on the street without a justified reason or simply talking among themselves.

The complaint bulletins have been sent to the Government Delegation, which is the competent body for its sanction, which, depending on the case, could reach up to 30,000 euros.

The Councilor for Citizen Security, Juan Pedro Toralba, has once again asked citizens to respect the rules of confinement and not to leave the house for anything other than buying food and medicine, and always observing hygiene and self-protection measures, since the risk of contagion is increasing.

"If we are able to meet these basic and simple rules, we will be able to flatten the curve and beat the coronavirus," the councilor added.
