Health will only keep 16 health centers open to prevent the spread of the coronavirus (19/03/2020)

The Cartagena Health Area has reorganized care in health centers to guarantee the safety of health care for patients and their professionals, following the guidelines of the Murcian Health Service.

For this reason, the 16 main health centers of the Health Area will centralize the care they offer to patients in the 43 offices that depend on them in order to be able to carry out a double triage system with differentiated circuits in these health facilities. that allow differentiated care for patients with respiratory pathologies from patients with other pathologies.

Likewise, these measures, which will be carried out in a coordinated and consensual manner with the primary care teams themselves, aim to protect professionals who have chronic pathologies or who receive treatments.

Yesterday Wednesday, the mayor, Ana Belén Castejón, attended a meeting, along with the councilor for Health, Manuel Padín, with the manager of the Area, José Sedes, and the mayors and councilors for health of La Unión and Fuente Álamo.

"Once again we have demonstrated our predisposition to collaborate and work together so that our neighbors receive the best possible care in a crisis situation like the one we are experiencing," stressed the mayor.

In this same sense, Castejón wanted to thank the work of health professionals from all over the Health Area and called for responsibility on the part of the population.

"It is important that we do not collapse the health centers and that we act responsibly for our health, but also for that of the health personnel that is fundamental for everyone," Castejón said.

Starting this Friday, the patients of some clinics will be referred to the general health centers and the pediatric patients will be attended mostly also there.

The area's five Primary Care Emergency Services (SUAP) - Mazarrón, Fuente Álamo, Los Dolores, Virgen de la Caridad CARTAGENA and La Unión - continue to function normally, and have even been strengthened, and

The two Continuous Attention Points of La Manga and Pozo Estrecho, and the Special Attention Point of Portmán in La Unión also do so.
