The Fire Extinguishing Service and Rescue of the City of Cartagena has reported a series of tips to be taken into account by citizens regarding the continued stay in houses due to the health crisis caused by the coronavirus.

Being longer at home, warns firefighters, leads to greater risk of having an accident, so it is recommended to take extreme precautions in the following situations:

1. When cooking, never leave the pan on the fire if you are not in front.

2. When charging mobile devices, always with the battery facing up and never on beds, sofas that could catch on quickly .....

3. Don't overload plugs.

4. Always turn off the gas before going to bed.

5. If a fire occurs in your home, exit by closing all doors and never use the elevator.

6. If the fire is in a house on your stairs, do not leave the house, cover the doors so that you do not get smoke and always put yourself in a window where you are smoke free and visible.

And above all, always follow the instructions of the emergency services.
