The administrative services adapt to the new situation of an administration without citizens in the offices (16/03/2020)

The administrative services of the Cartagena City Council adapt to the new situation that the State of Alarm has planned due to the spread of the coronavirus, with some municipal offices in which attention to the public has been suppressed and part of which has joined to work reduced number of workers, while the rest attend to issues from home and remain localized.

The mayor, Ana Belén Castejón, established yesterday in a decree the reduction of attendance and presence of public employees to a minimum, eliminating face-to-face attention in municipal offices.

For them, the heads of the services have determined shifts with the essential personnel, taking into account family reconciliation and the use of telematic means so that they can attend to work issues from home.

Almost all of the municipal staff is reachable to join their on-site jobs if required for exceptional service needs.

During the morning of this Monday, March 16, the municipal administration employees who had attended their first shift in person, were in charge of attending the procedures requested by citizens by telephone and indicated the ways of how to manage them electronically, through the municipal electronic headquarters.

Those that most were the Statistics services, which manage the registration certificates, and those of Social Services that attend vulnerable groups, such as the elderly.

This system has not affected the Local Police and Firefighters templates that by their own configuration require the presence of all their troops.
