The day of Sunday ends with four complaints from the Local Police for failing to meet the requirements of the state of Alarma (16/03/2020)

Local Police officers made four complaints this Sunday, March 15, for failing to heed their indications to close establishments and to confine citizens in their homes, according to the state of Alarm decreed by the Government of the Nation.

Except for those four cases, the day passed without incident and with a high degree of civility and responsibility on the part of the citizens.

The mayor, Ana Belén Castejón, has once again called for responsibility and citizen solidarity.

“We Cartagena are setting an example with our attitude and we must continue like this.

Acts like those of the four people who were denounced are not being the usual thing but isolated events and we hope that they will not be repeated. ”

The mayor recalled that only by respecting the recommendations of the health authorities will we be able to overcome this crisis.

"The recommendation is clear: you have to stay home."

The Cartagena City Council yesterday deployed about 60 Local Police officers throughout the municipality who were responsible for notifying citizens who were on the streets and businesses that remained open.

Specifically, they made three complaints to citizens who repeatedly stayed in public spaces in the Mediterranean Urbanization and the Media Room.

They were warned to go home, and when the police returned they were still on the street.

The owner of a telephone booth in the Virgen de la Caridad neighborhood was also denounced, who also repeatedly ignored the agents' instructions.

These are complaints made under the Citizen Security Law of 2015, better known as the Gag Law.

Penalties can range from 600 to 30,000 euros.

The facts have been brought to the attention of the Government Delegation, which will ultimately sanction and determine the amount.

Throughout this morning it is planned that the Government delegation, together with representatives of the Cartagena City Council, will coordinate the deployment by areas of the National Police, Civil Guard and Local Police, as well as combine criteria for action.
