Social Service replaces face-to-face attention with telephone service points (14/03/2020)

The Department of Social Services of the City Council has reduced personal attention and has established telephone call points instead to protect the most vulnerable groups, such as the elderly, from the risk of contagion from coronavirus.

The measure has been adopted in accordance with the containment instructions that the municipal government has issued, following the recommendations of the regional and national governments, to slow the spread of the coronavirus in the municipality of Cartagena, preventing health from collapsing and protecting the elderly, as the most vulnerable group.

Thus, telephone information points have been established for care from social services to the elderly, avoiding their displacement and contact with other people.

Specifically, there are four points that will attend from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the following numbers:

968128966 Access Point to Social Services

968128826 Municipal Center for Social Services Cartagena I in the La Graduada Building

968128910 Municipal Center for Social Services Cartagena II in Plaza de España Building

968128804/968128851 Seniors and People with disabilities Unit

People who had appointments scheduled for the next two weeks will be attended via telephone to respond to the demand they raise.

However, appointments will not be scheduled for the next few weeks.

The Department has also coordinated with the provider companies the care of the elderly who are beneficiaries of home services such as telecare, home help, family respite and home delivery.

Likewise, the terms of those procedures that had an established term have been delayed, such as dependency aid, annual declarations of contributory pensions and reviews of basic income;

as well as the delivery of documents to complete pending files

For any social emergency outside these hours, you can call the emergency number 112.

The Department will be coordinated with social entities and associations, as well as with Civil Protection and Local Police to respond to situations that may be necessary.

Likewise, it is reported that all the activities organized by the Department of Social Services of Cartagena are suspended or postponed during the month of March.
