Jaime García, elected head of the Association of Civil Protection Volunteers of Cartagena (07/03/2020)

The civil protection volunteer, Jaime García, was elected this morning head of the Municipal Association of Civil Protection Volunteers of the City of Cartagena, in a general assembly chaired by the councilor of the Security Area, Juan Pedro Torralba Villada, accompanied by Head of the Fire Fighting, Rescue and Civil Protection Service, Francisco Gómez Ávalos, and various officials of the Service itself.

Volunteers belonging to it have participated in the election process, who have renewed their commitment to belong to the 2020 course. In previous days, volunteers Jaime García and Nabil Habbal had submitted their nominations, the first being elected in the vote.

The councilor has addressed all the volunteers to thank them on behalf of the mayor, Ana Belén Castejón, and in his, his effort and commitment demonstrated during this year and the previous ones, and has offered to provide full support from of the City Council so that the Association continues to perform the usual service to citizens, both in preventive devices and in emergency situations, especially in critical situations such as those experienced in the DANA episode last September.

The Association of Civil Protection Volunteers of Cartagena for the year 2020 is made up of about 120 people, of which the newly admitted are receiving the necessary training to be able to perform the usual tasks entrusted to them as volunteers of the Association, and also they will give small recycling training actions to volunteers who have already been in previous years.
