The Symphony Orchestra prepares for the Triple Concert of Between Strings and Metals (27/02/2020)

On Wednesday, March 4, the rehearsal of the Cartagena Symphony Orchestra will take place at the Auditorium of the Music Conservatory of Cartagena prior to the celebration of the VII Extraordinary Concert of Between Strings and Metals, which will take place on March 5 at the Auditorium El Batel, at 8:00 p.m.

The rehearsal with the soloists will take place on day 4 from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and during the break the Orchestra is planning to perform: from 11:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in which you will be able to interview the soloists, conductor and members of the orchestra, an opportunity to get to know the soloists of this year more thoroughly, who will perform the Beethoven Triple Concert, - the only concert that Beethoven composed for more than one solo instrument, in its most creative era;

being heard on the 250th anniversary of his birth for the first and only time in our region.

As in other cities of the world where it is being programmed.

Soloists

This year and unlike the previous extraordinary concerts, we will have on stage Batel not with one, but with three great musicians:

Felipe Rodríguez García (violin).

With the I prize of the I edition between strings and metals, he has acted as soloist in different chamber music groups in the US, Germany, England, France, Italy, etc.

He has performed with the RTVE orchestra, and with numerous other orchestras throughout the national territory.

Of particular mention are his various recordings for SONY, RNE and TVE.

Winner of numerous competitions, he has collaborated with the UBS Verbier Orchestra, and has been Principal Violin of the “City of Birmingham Sympony Orchestraâ€, Concertino of the Gulbenkian Orchestra of Lisbon.

He currently combines his position as a violinist for the prestigious Madrid Symphony Orchestra (Teatro Real), with his activity as a chamber musician and soloist.

Irene Ortega Albaladejo, (cello).

With the 1st prize in the VIII edition between strings and metals, he has worked with different orchestras and formations such as the Royal Academy of Music Orchestra (London), the Harmony Chamber Orchestra (Italy), the Philharmonic Orchestra (Madrid) or the London Sinfonietta.

He has received numerous awards and performed in different countries and renowned halls such as the Lincoln Center in New York, the McComick Place in Chicago, the Queen Elizabeth Hall and the Hackney Town Hall in London.

He has participated in internationally renowned festivals such as The International Holland Music Sessions or the Kabelmetal Festival.

Gabriel Escudero Braquehais, (piano).

With the I prize in the II edition of between strings and metals, he is considered by music critics as one of the best Spanish pianists of his generation, he combines his interpretive activity with pedagogics internationally.

Escudero has been invited to perform at important events and festivals in different parts of Spain and in countries such as Germany, Austria, USA, Finland, Poland, Sweden, Italy, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, etc.

He has performed in emblematic halls such as Carnegie Hall in New York, Musikverein in Vienna, Mozarteum in Salzburg, Smetana Hall in Prague or Scandinavian House in New York.

Deeply interested in piano pedagogy, he has worked at the Manhattan School of Music in New York, at the International School of Music Finland in Helsinki.

In addition, the baton will be one of the best directors at the international level, at the head of the Cartagena Symphony Orchestra, one of the most promising symphonic formations on the national scene and this has been demonstrated in previous concerts: Leonardo Martínez Cayuelas .
