The City Council paid suppliers in five days during the month of December (24/02/2020)

The City of Cartagena came to pay invoices to suppliers in five days during the month of December, according to the budget stability and delinquency report issued by the treasury corresponding to the fourth and last quarter of the year.

The report has been released this morning at the Information Commission of the Treasury and Interior, which has been chaired by the councilor of the area, Esperanza Nieto, and serves as a provisional advancement of the settlement that the session will finally present at the end of the month of March.

The payment term to suppliers was gradually being reduced during the previous months, which was 16 days in October and eight days in November

Regarding the budget, the City Council achieved a good degree of execution of the planned items.

Thus, in terms of revenue, the City Council recognized rights amounting to 217,938,295 euros, which represents 97.87 percent of the budget, achieving 92 percent of it: 197,839,742 euros.

Regarding expenses, expenditure commitments amounting to 200,767,959 euros were recorded, 92.12 percent of the budget, with 88.88 percent of those commitments being paid during the year: 175,287,363 euros.

As for the municipal living debt at December 31, 2019, it was around 88 million euros, of which 54 million correspond to financial debt and 34 to commercial debt or from judicial sentences.
