The recovery of the Districts increases decentralized expenditure in neighborhoods and districts by 70% (19/02/2020)

The decision of the new municipal government to recover the Districts will increase decentralized spending in neighborhoods and districts this year to 2.6 million euros, 70% in this year's budgets, as notified by the mayor, Ana Belén Castejón , to the presidents of the twelve municipal boards during the meeting they have held this afternoon, together with the vice mayor, Noelia Arroyo;

the deputy mayor, Manuel Padín;

and the Councilor for Decentralization, Diego Ortega.

The Neighborhood Boards, will also raise their budget by 10%, by incorporating into the budget this year the 160,000 euros that they could not spend last year on repair and maintenance “We understand that, by the elections and obstacles that were tried to impose, the constitution of the meetings was delayed, which has prevented the planned budget from being spent and very necessary maintenance works were executed.

That is why we are going to move this budget to 2020 so that the boards do not lose it, â€said the mayor.

The recovery of the figure of the districts, abolished in 2015, will be accompanied by a budget that will be around 900,000 euros and will be managed in a decentralized manner to meet the needs of neighborhoods and districts.

All of them will have a fixed amount and another variable that will be calculated according to the population, degree of population dispersion or the level of unemployment of each district, among others.

The mayor has taken advantage of this meeting to welcome the presidents and vice presidents of the Neighborhood Boards and be at your disposal to work with the greatest possible coordination in the development of neighborhoods and councils.

In this sense, they have requested a list with the annual programming of sports, cultural and leisure activities planned in order to optimize the use of municipal resources.
