One in four Vocational Training students in the region chooses Cartagena, a municipality that also brings together three of the five integrated centers where dual education is offered.
This offer makes Cartagena the regional capital of vocational training, as the Vice Mayor, Noelia Arroyo, stressed during the presentation of the program of 20 measures for the FP of the Region, which has been made by the president of the Autonomous Community, Fernando López You look at the Carlos III institute in Cartagena.
Arroyo stressed that "the FP connects training with the company and increases employability among our youth" and gives opportunities in work areas connected to the needs of Cartagena.
In this sense, he has underlined the cycles that are taught in the Hospitality School, essential for a tourist capital, and the specialties related to the sea that are taught in the CEIP Hesperides and that are a singularity of the Cartagena offer.
The regional president has announced that Cartagena will host the regional Vocational Training competitions during the celebration of the European FP Week, in which the excellence of the students with better results will be rewarded.
López Miras has highlighted that in this exercise the integrated FP centers will be promoted and has announced the progressive implementation of dual training in all FP institutes through agreements with business organizations for the dissemination of dual FP among its associates and Creation of a program for teachers to take charge of the recruitment of companies to increase Dual FP positions.
