The City Council improves and speeds up the attention to the citizens (18/02/2020)

The Administrative Building of San Miguel will be subjected from this year to a series of reforms with the aim of improving access, information and privacy of Cartagena.

The Department of General Services and Electronic Administration, directed by the mayor Alejandra Gutiérrez, has designed a Creation Plan for the Registry Assistance Office, whose implementation will begin during the year 2020. The remodeling works amount to 200,000 euros, which will be initiated multiannually during the year 2020.

“The Office of Registration Assistance (OAMR) of the San Miguel Administrative Building has great shortcomings both in terms of physical space, and in terms of provision of technological platforms,†said Alejandra Gutiérrez.

With the new reforms that are planned to be undertaken in these municipal facilities, the citizen service and registration area of San Miguel will begin to be remodeled during the year 2020.

"The objective is that the neighbors can be treated with greater privacy, avoid unnecessary waiting and expedite all mechanisms of attention and information to the citizen," said Gutierrez.

The plan foresees the installation of isolated tables for officials authorized with different means of separation, to improve the privacy of citizens when they go to the municipal offices to make arrangements, while they will be accessible to meet the needs of care for people with capacity or reduced mobility.

Likewise, supports will be installed to obtain the biometric signature of the citizen and the signaling of pertinent numbers at each face-to-face table.

“We are going to transform the citizen service area of the Administrative Building by incorporating individual waiting chairs, separating the waiting area from that of face-to-face assistance, we are going to install a new signage that facilitates access to the various departments and, in addition, we are going to place a tactile edicts board;

all this, with the objective of improving the service of attention to the user so much in matter of transparency as of information â€, added Gutiérrez.

Cartagena City Council Procedures Catalog

The General Services department has begun to elaborate the 'Catalog of Procedures' of the City Council of Cartagena, as an inventory of the processes that manage all the Municipal Services of the City Council of Cartagena.

“It is necessary to collect the basic information of each procedure provided by the City Council to facilitate the procedures for citizens, form of initiation of processing, deadline for submission, requirements, instruction and resolution body, effects of silence, applicable regulations, resources, channels of presentation, required documentation ... â€, said Gutierrez.

"We want it to be a reality during the year 2020."

The objective of the implementation of the Procedures Catalog is to simplify the procedures and use the San Miguel Registry Assistance Office to solve as many municipal procedures as possible, avoiding duplication of procedures, inconvenience to the citizen and slowness in the resolution of doubts.

Once the Catalog of Procedures and Processes has been implemented, the mayor adds, “it will be clear what procedures can be answered by telephone through the 010 serviceâ€.

In this way, the first attention to the citizen will be included in a protocol, giving immediate response to a large number of procedures.

Subsequently, if the question demanded by the citizen requires more personalized and accurate information, it will be referred to the corresponding administrative unit â€, the councilor concluded.
