The project that will be developed by the Association of Professional Women, Researchers and Entrepreneurs of Cartagena and Region of Murcia, AMPIEC, has had in its first phase the participation of more than a hundred people among children.
The Association of Professional Women, Researchers and Entrepreneurs of Cartagena and AMPIEC Region, kicks off the II edition of a pioneering and innovative project, promoted and designed by its President, Ascensión García, where equality, Environmental Education and climate change will be addressed as main axes in different fields.
The project has had the collaboration of the General Directorate of the Environment of the Region of Murcia through the Visitor Center "Las Cobaticas";
the Burned Association;
Practiser and Carrefour Medical Center.
Its general objectives are grouped on the work axes and among them, it is important to promote environmental education in the fight against climate change;
raise public awareness about the importance of equality and its relationship with the environment or develop proposals for the full and effective participation of all women in environmental policy decisions, among others.
The project, which consists of several phases, has begun its first stage with the participation and collaboration of more than a hundred people including boys and girls from 6 to 12 years of age of CEIP La Concepción de Cartagena.
Ascensión García wanted to point out that "the first phase has focused on working with the little ones since the first years are decisive to develop their environmental sensitivity in children, to be aware of the importance of caring for the environment as well as the ideal moment to generate a change of attitude towards the environment ".
For the launch, several talks have been given.
In them, the Ardeida Association has collaborated that has addressed the flora and fauna of the mountains of Cartagena and the coast and the Visitor Center "Las Cobaticas" has focused on the knowledge of the different natural spaces that the region has and, especially "Calblanque".
They also announced the measures of care and conservation of the environment.
In addition to the talks, numerous activities have been working for the axis of equality for awareness, promotion and its defense as a human value in the care and conservation of the environment.
For this, various research and murals have been developed.
The first stage has culminated with an exit to the natural area of ​​Calblanque, where cleaning activities and sensitization tasks have been carried out to avoid soil degradation, loss of biodiversity and pollution.
