The Cartagena Carnival 2020 starts (13/02/2020)

The Cartagena Carnival starts this Friday, February 14, at 5:30 p.m., with the Carnival Welcome Parade that from the Plaza Alcolea, will tour the main streets and squares of the city such as Calle del Carmen, Plaza del Icue , Gates of Murcia, Plaza de San Sebastián, Calle Mayor and Plaza del Ayuntamiento.

Upon completion, attendees can enjoy a fireworks show.

It will be the preamble of the main course of the day, as will be the Election Gala of the Infantile Queen and her Ladies in the Wssell Central Sports Hall in Guimbarda from 9:00 p.m.

Six candidates from as many carnival troupes will participate in it.

SATURDAY

The big day of the carnival arrives on Saturday, February 15 with the celebration of the Cry of the Carnival 2020 also at the Central Sports Pavilion Wssell de Guimbarda at 9:00 p.m. and with the Gala of election of the Queen of the Carnival of Cartagena and its ladies, who has seven candidates from the thirties of troupes that make up the carnival in Cartagena.

The preacher this year will be the councilor of the Area of ​​Culture, Youth and Equality, David Martínez.

SUNDAY

To close the weekend, on Sunday, February 16 at 1:00 p.m., the Vermouth Dance will be held in the Plaza San Francisco with the Piku Group and the performance of the dance body of the Modernist Cultural Association of Cartagena de Levante, with a mask dance.

Subsequently another main course will take place, the XVII Regional Choreography Contest 2020 at the Wssell Municipal Sports Hall in Guimbarda, where more than 2,000 people will congregate to enjoy one of the most emblematic events of the Cartagena Carnival.

It is divided into two categories, children and adults, in both groups from Cartagena and other parts of the region, such as Yecla, Alcantarilla and Murcia.

First, the children will show their dances at 12:00 hours, which after a year of preparation will see their effort rewarded on stage to enjoy performing children's choreographies.

Then the adult choreographies arrive, with two passes, one at 7:00 p.m. and the other at 9:30 p.m., with impressive staging, where magic and dance will flood the Pavilion with enthusiasm for the Contest for another year. Regional.

There are no tickets for this gala, as they sold out when it was put on sale at the box office of El Corte Inglés.
