MC promotes that the regional government be required to end economic discrimination against sports clubs in the Region (28/01/2020)

During the ordinary Plenary held today, and at the proposal of MC, the local government must require the Ministry of Tourism to an equitable and proportional distribution of sponsorship items of the Costa Cálida brand among elite sports clubs, impacting these in the clubs of our Region and those of the entire maritime province of Cartagena, to which the aforementioned brand responds.

The mayor Ricardo Segado recalled that "last month, the regional government announced that it will allocate more than half a million euros to UCAM Murcia basketball for promoting the Costa Cálida over the next two years, confirming the tendency to sponsor only the elite sport from the city of Murcia ".

The offense comes from afar since between 2016 and 2017, Costa Cálida allocated more than 250,000 euros to El Pozo Murcia, while the brand shone by its absence in the Cartagena team that also militated and militates in the First Division of futsal.

Similarly, at the same time the UCAM Murcia basketball received another 500,000 thousand euros.

Discrimination is also evident this season as far as futsal is concerned, "as there is a club from Murcia and one from Cartagena in the highest category and that of the city of the interior looks this season on his Costa Cálida shirt, and the from Cartagena, no. "

Therefore, "since 2020, we propose that the sponsorship games of our coast be distributed in an equitable and proportional manner among elite sports clubs throughout the Region and in all disciplines, without prejudice to exceptional situations that may occur", has explained the councilor cartagenerista ", adding that" how can it be otherwise we also want to draw attention to the discrimination suffered by the female sport of our Region, whose two of its emblematic clubs, the Algar Surmenor Sports Association and the Roldán Futsal , despite competing at the highest level in volleyball and futsal they have not deserved the same consideration and support as the clubs in the city of Murcia. "

"In MC we firmly believe that it is difficult to find other entities as deserving as those of the sponsorship of Costa Cálida for their unparalleled work for the benefit not only of women's sport, but also of the quarry," Ricardo Segado concluded.

Giménez recalled that "on January 10, 2019, the Mesa de la Justicia met for the last time, a municipal body created by Mayor José López to monitor the discrimination suffered by workers and professionals of Justice and, above all, the inhabitants of the Comarca del Campo de Cartagena ", adding that" since then there has been no progress in this matter. The City of Justice remains a chimera and the civil and commercial courts approved for our judicial party continue no location. "

"

This, in defense of legality and, above all, in order to protect the physical integrity of minors who access the site.

This, despite the fact that, as Ruiz explained, "the monastery of San Ginés de la Jara has been and is the victim of irregular political actions that have jeopardized the value of this Cultural Interest Property so dear to all cartageneros ".

This petition is based "on the duty of the Cartagena City Council to act in accordance with article 6.2 of Law 4 / 2007,16 of March, on Cultural Heritage of the Region, aware that keeping a Cultural Interest Property closed for public visit disrupts its social function and in accordance with articles 8.1 and 8.3 of the same law.
