The Autonomous Community lowers the warning for suspended particles in the municipality of Cartagena to level 2 (25/01/2020)

The General Directorate of the Environment and Mar Menor of the Ministry of Water, Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Environment of the Region of Murcia has informed the City of Cartagena of the descent to level 2 of the notice for suspension particles (PM10) in the municipality Cartagena, as a result of the decrease in measurements recorded yesterday at the Escombreras Valley, La Aljorra, Alumbres and Santa Lucía stations.

For this reason, the City Council of Cartagena maintains the recommendations to the general population to reduce as much as possible the use of the private vehicle, sharing it and performing an efficient driving, without sudden accelerations and respecting the speed limits.

Likewise, it is advisable to use public transport, not to carry out outdoor activities that require a great physical effort or that cause smoke or dust, such as burning burns, works or plows of fields.

Yesterday, the daily average of the four stations remained above 80 µg / m3, which implies the application of the corrective level 2 established in the framework action protocol.

Specific:

o Aljorra: 89 µg / m3

o Altitudes: 83 µg / m3

o Mompeán (Saint Lucia): 84 µg / m3

o Valley of Escombreras: 81 µg / m3

(see current values)
