36 Local Police applicants from across the region are trained in ESPAC with its improved facilities (20/01/2020)

36 students have started today the Selective Basic Training course for Aspiring Agents to Join the Local Police Corps of the Region of Murcia that will be held at the School of Public Safety of the City of Cartagena (ESPAC).

The opening day has had the assistance of the mayor, Ana Belén Castejón;

the Councilor for Citizen Security, Juan Pedro Torralba;

the person in charge of the Coordination Service of Local Police of the Region of Murcia, Alfonso Ayuso, and the technician of the School of Training and Innovation of the Public Administration of the Region of Murcia (EFIAP), Pedro José Navarro.

The Councilor for Public Safety, Juan Pedro Torralba, stressed that students will benefit from the improvements that have been made in the ESPAC at the beginning of the year with an investment of 14,000 euros to replace the furniture, in addition to twelve new armchairs in the crowded room and at the control base, as well as to expand the room where training services are offered.

The 36 applicants participating in the course come from 9 municipalities in the Region of Murcia: Abarán (9), Águilas (6), Los Alcázares (2), Alguazas (5), Alhama de Murcia (4), Bullas (2) , Caravaca de la Cruz (3), Cartagena (3) and Lorca (2).

The course has a dual purpose, to provide adequate training to the aspiring personnel, to train them for the exercise of their profession as Local Police Agents and to comply with the provisions of Law 6/2019, of April 4, on Coordination of the Local Police of the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia, which determines it as a prerequisite and necessary for entry into the Local Police Corps.

From the Training and Innovation School of the Public Administration of the Region of Murcia (EFIAP), Pedro José Navarro, has remarked that "this course will allow compliance with the provisions of the Local Police Coordination Law to finish the access phase in the oppositions that have developed in the different city councils of the Region of Murcia ".

On September 20, 2020, the training is scheduled to be completed, over a period of 7 months and with a duration of more than 1000 teaching hours per applicant, structured in two phases:

First Phase - Practical Theoretical Training: in the face-to-face modality in the facilities of the School of Public Security of the City of Cartagena, with a duration of 656 teaching hours per applicant.

This Phase will take place until Thursday, June 25, 2020.

Second Phase - Training in the Templates: it takes place in the Police Corps of the municipality to which the aspiring staff corresponds, with an approximate duration of 500 hours.

This Phase is scheduled to begin on June 26, 2020 and will end on September 20, 2020.

The contents are structured in five areas of knowledge and an area of ​​practice, which harmonize the training needs of students, the concepts, procedures and basic attitudes necessary for professional practice and the performance of the functions performed by the staff of the Local Police.

OTHER COURSES

At this time, a Selective course for new agents in which a total of 44 applicants to the Local Police Corps of the City Council of Cartagena are participating is also being held at ESPAC.

This course began on November 4 and is scheduled to end in full on June 25.

On the other hand, EFIAP plans to develop, from mid-February, a new edition of this Selective Basic Training course for Aspiring Agents to Join Local Police Corps, in collaboration with the Murcia Local Police Academy.

Most of the students of this training action would correspond to the municipality of Murcia, to which would be added applicants who have passed the opposition phase in the municipalities of Cieza, Lorquí, Las Torres de Cotillas and Mula.
