The counselor Antonio Luengo visits Fuente Alamo to learn about a pioneering project on sustainability in the municipality

The regional government, through the Ministry of Water, Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Environment, today announced the start of work for the development of the study of density of facilities and livestock farms in the Campo de Cartagena.

A document that "will allow us to know, depending on the impact that livestock activity has on the environment and water bodies, which is the total area that can be used for this activity, which will allow us in the future to take new decisions in relation to the restrictions imposed, "said counselor Antonio Luengo.

In this way, the seventh final provision of the Decree Law of Integral Protection of the Mar Menor is complied with.

"The new norm establishes obligations for all the sectors involved in the Mar Menor environment, but there are also tasks that we must promote from the administration, to continue working on the improvement and recovery of the Mar Menor," he added.

The Decree Law gives the regional government a period of two years to prepare it but "we have already started to try to reduce the deadlines as much as possible, and therefore the first step in the preparation of this analysis will be carried out by IMIDA and consists in a previous work of location and dimensioning of all livestock facilities, through satellite images, "said the head of Water, Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Environment.

All this through initiatives and activities that will involve its entire population.

the formation of the first 'Eco Patrulla' of Fuente Álamo, or the action undertaken by the San Agustín College to publicize 'Fuente Álamo, Sustainable Villa' in the center of the city of Murcia during the IV Fair and Market of Cooperatives of Teaching.
