The AEMET adds a new yellow warning for rains of up to 60 liters in Cartagena, which adds to the strong wind for this afternoon and early morning (19/01/2020)

The State Meteorological Agency has updated its warnings for adverse weather events scheduled for Sunday and tomorrow Monday and, in addition to the warnings for snow, wind and coastal phenomena, has added a yellow level warning for rain up to 60 liters per square meter in 12 hours in the Field of Cartagena and Mazarrón, from 3 pm this afternoon and until 10 am Monday.

Also affecting the municipality of Cartagena, the orange level warning for coastal phenomena (wind force 8 and waves of 4 m) remains active throughout the coast of the Region from 17 hours today until 10 am tomorrow Monday and notice Orange by wind in Cartagena and Mazarón with gusts of up to 90 km / h, from 3 pm today until 10 am tomorrow.

The notices in the rest of the region are the following:

Red level warning by snow (up to 20 cm accumulated in 24 hours) in the Altiplano from 12 tonight and until 12 noon on Monday morning.

Orange level notices for snow (10 cm. In 24 hours) in the Altiplano and the Northwest from 12 noon this morning and noon.

And in the Guadalentín Valley by thickness of up to 6 cm in 24 hours from 12 pm today until 12 pm on Monday.

Orange level warning by wind (gusts of up to 90 km / h) in the Altiplano from 3 pm this afternoon until noon tomorrow.

Yellow level warnings by snow (thickness of 4 cm) in the Guadalentín Valley from 12 noon to midnight.

Yellow wind warning (up to 70 km / h) in the Northwest, Vega del Segura, Guadalentín Valley, Lorca and Águilas from 3 pm today and up to 10 am tomorrow.

And on the Altiplano from 12 noon tomorrow until 6 pm tomorrow Monday.

From the Firefighting and Civil Protection Service of the City of Cartagena, caution is recommended and avoid travel in those hours, if they are not necessary.

Also move away from elements that can drag the wind and remove them from the facades of the houses.

It must also be taken into account that the combination of wind and luvia could cause trees to fall.
