The municipalities of Cartagena and Madrid will establish forms of collaboration in cultural matters with the objective of supporting local artists, as confirmed this morning by Andrea Levy, Councilor for Culture, Tourism and Sports of Madrid, and Noelia Arroyo, Deputy Mayor of Cartagena, after a story kept with artists from Cartagena.
Levy has affirmed that “culture serves to link bridges between Madrid and Cartagena, and we will look for the formula so that there are open spaces for Cartagena's artists and that the Sea of Music be heard with voice and strength in Madrid”
The Madrid councilor has considered that “in Cartagena there are good cultural initiatives that can be applied in Madrid, such as the monitoring and advice unit for artists”
Noelia Arroyo has stressed that Cartagena can “take advantage of the cultural circuits and programming of Madrid to show our Cartagena talent in the capital of Spain.
We have consolidated events but we also have a generation of millennials that are strongly committed to culture in different disciplines.
This is a unique opportunity for Cartagena to sound, look and feel in Madrid. ”
The meeting, which has been attended by the councilor for culture, Carlos Piana, was attended by musicians and artists from Cartagena, who have exposed the Madrid councilor the opportunities for promotion and its presence in the capital of Spain.
Among the artists present at the meeting were the photographer Diaz Burgos, the graphic humorist Jos Manuel Puebla, the painter Pedro Prez Casanova, the sculptor Senz de Elorrieta, members of the "Ayoho", "Nunatak" and "Arde Bogot" groups and the directors of the FICC and the Young Symphony Orchestra.
