On Friday, January 17, the Cartagena neighborhood of San Antón celebrates the traditional blessing of animals framed at parties in honor of their patron.
At the end of the working day, this year as a novelty, it has been decided to repeat the blessing on Sunday, at 1 pm.
On Friday the flowery target will mark the beginning of the events at 08:00 hours, followed by the solemn mass in the church, starting at 11:00 hours.
The mayor of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón, the vice mayor of Cartagena, Noelia Arroyo, and the councilor of the Festejos, Juan Pedro Torralba are planning to attend the blessing of animals, at 12:00 hours, thirty minutes later there will be a concentration of carriages In that same place.
At 1:00 p.m. attendees can enjoy the popular Baile del Vermú in the social premises.
In the afternoon, at 6:00 p.m. the procession of the Patron Saint will take place through the streets of the neighborhood, and at 7:00 p.m. there will be another dance in the social premises and a family raffle.
At 22:00 hours the celebrations of the day will end.
