Carmina Fernández recalls that the Ministry of Development and the Autonomous Community agreed in 2018 the text of the agreement that meant the final unlocking for the construction of the ZAL and that, since then, the firm is at the expense, exclusively, of its approval by the regional government

The Socialist deputy says that the ZAL of Los Camachos represents, in addition to an urgent and indispensable need for Cartagena and its region, a project of strategic interest for the Region of Murcia, which will allow the integration of the Port of Cartagena in the European multimodal network of transport distribution and the elimination of heavy vehicle traffic, also being configured as a first level logistics node associated with the port and connected to the Mediterranean Corridor

The deputy of the Socialist Parliamentary Group Carmina Fernández has registered a motion in the Regional Assembly in which she urges the regional government to definitively approve and immediately sign the development agreement for the Logistics Acting Zone (ZAL) of Los Camachos, in Cartagena, in the terms agreed with the Ministry of Development.

Likewise, in the initiative the socialist deputy demands to urgently develop and approve all the complementary actions necessary to put the ZAL into operation.

Carmina Fernández stressed that the ZAL of Los Camachos represents, in addition to an urgent and indispensable need for Cartagena and the region, a project of strategic interest for the Region of Murcia, which will allow the integration of the Port of Cartagena in the European multimodal network of transport distribution and the elimination of heavy vehicle traffic, also being configured as a first level logistics node associated with the port and connected to the Mediterranean Corridor.

He recalled that the Ministry of Development and the Autonomous Community, through the then Minister of Development and Infrastructure, agreed in November 2018 the text of the agreement that sets the framework for collaboration between the regional government, the City of Cartagena and SEPES, Entity Public Land Business, for the development of the ZAL in the Los Camachos industrial estate.

"This agreement in the text of the agreement meant the definitive release for the start of the construction of the ZAL, including the necessary transfer of the current Franco Deposit to the new location. And in February 2019 SEPES approved the definitive agreement for the development of the Zone of Logistics Acting, thus giving free access to the signing of the definitive agreement, "he said.

"Since then, there are many statements by the regional government referring to the importance of the project, but it has been 14 months since the agreement was reached, and yet the signing of the agreement is at the expense, exclusively, of approval by the party of the Governing Council of the Region of Murcia to proceed to its formal signature, "he added.

In addition, Carmina Fernández has registered in the Assembly a question for her full oral response addressed to the Minister of Development and Infrastructure to explain what are the reasons why the Autonomous Community has not yet approved and signed the agreement agreed in November 2018 between the Ministry of Development and the Ministry for the Development of the ZAL of Cartagena, and whose administrative processing was completed by the Ministry of Development in February 2019.
