15 new lifeguards receive their diplomas after completing an ADLE course in La Manga (08/01/2020)

15 new lifeguards have received their diplomas this morning after finishing a course of lifeguard and nautical monitor held in La Manga, in which they have obtained a specific theoretical and practical training, to be able to perform their future work in beaches and swimming pools, as well as monitors Sailing, canoeing and rowing sports.

All of them were unemployed and enrolled in the Employment and Training Service (SEF), mainly residents of La Manga, who once completed the course must register with the Placement Agency of the Agency for Local Development and Employment of Cartagena.

In the ceremony of delivery of diplomas have been present the Councilor for Education and Employment of the City of Cartagena, Irene Ruíz and the general director of Mobility and Coast of the Ministry of Development of the Region of Murcia, Marina Munuera.

"We believe that it will have a labor insertion of 80%, since this course has arisen due to a demand from the services sector of yacht clubs, nautical schools and sports federations," said Councilwoman Irene Ruiz.

The Agency for Local Development and Employment of Cartagena (ADLE) has been responsible for carrying out this course, which is part of the Strategy for Sustainable and Integrated Urban Development "La Manga Abierta 365º", coordinated by the Ministry of Development.

It is also co-financed at 80% by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and 20% by the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia.

The course has been composed of 332 teaching hours and 20 hours of practical training, taught from October 8 to December 27, 2019.

The students have been able to enjoy a scholarship for transportation and have received the basic knowledge of lifeguard in aquatic facilities (100 hours), beach lifeguard (100 hours), first emergency intervention (40 hours), a basic life support course CPR and DESA (12 hours), sail starter monitor (20 hours) and the basic vessel navigation title (20 hours).
