The fight against the submerged economy in Cartagena and the region has also been the subject of analysis

The president and vice president of COEC, Ana Correa and Nuria Castillo, respectively, have received Manuela Marín, General Director of Social Dialogue and Labor Welfare at COEC facilities in Cartagena.

In the meeting, various topics focused, fundamentally, on the work being done from the new general direction, led by Manuela Marín, have been analyzed to achieve gender equality in the workplace such as the wage gap, still very pronounced the decline in the salary of women.

From the Confederation the situation in Cartagena has been transmitted to the general director, as well as they have committed themselves to work in depth to reduce it.

For Ana Correa, "it is inconceivable that in the 21st century, women for the same work that men do have a lower salary, just because of gender difference, it is something meaningless that must be eradicated from the world of work."

On the other hand, the implementation of equality plans in companies of up to 50 workers has been another of the topics discussed, as well as the lines of action that will be carried out to achieve their implementation in small businesses, which will result in improving the working conditions of women.

Likewise, the fight against the submerged economy, which usually affects especially the female gender and that harms all sectors so much, due to the unfair competition that it entails, is another aspect that concerns both the general direction of Social Dialogue and the Confederacy.

The directives of COEC, have transferred to the general director her concern for all the issues discussed and requested lines of action from the Regional Government to combat them.

In this sense, both Ana Correa and Nuria Castillo are especially sensitized to all the issues discussed given that they also represent the businesswomen and professionals of Cartagena and the region from AMEP, in their capacity as vice president and president, respectively.

Association that has been part of the strategy to eliminate the wage gap in the Region of Murcia and will present a proposal for a guide for companies, in collaboration with COEC, so that they know if there are wage differences in their salary structure by gender

Likewise, and in order to sensitize the businessmen and businesswomen of Cartagena and the region about all the topics discussed, training and information sessions will be organized, jointly, during the next year.
