The City of Cartagena has completed a total of eight works in different enclaves of the municipality between last November and this month of December for a total amount of 614,524.48 euros.
The inauguration of all of them, although they can already be enjoyed by the residents of neighborhoods and councils of the municipality, is scheduled for early next year.
As indicated by the mayor of Works, Juan Pedro Torralba, specifically, in El Algar they have completed the remodeling of the Lobo street park in El Algar, for an amount of 126,952.42 euros, and works on the roof from the courtyard of the civic center of the Cartagenera council, for 55,836 euros.
The Plaza Las Peńas, in La Palma, has also been remodeled, for 93,269.30 euros, the Plaza de Perín, for 87,655.98 euros, and the Plaza de la Constitución de Santa Lucía, for a total amount of 49,465.88 euros.
In addition, the costumes of the Pozo Estrecho sports center have been rehabilitated, a work to which 87,578.75 euros have been allocated, and 59,453.12 euros have been invested in the removal of fiber cement plates of the social center of San José Obrero. .
Likewise, the remodeling project of the running track has meant a total of 4,313.03 euros.
“The most important thing for this government team is that the residents of all these neighborhoods and councils can already make use of the new infrastructure to which we had committed.
For us it is a satisfaction to be able to finish a large part of the works of the Participatory Budgets that were pending in the previous legislature, ”Torralba explained.
- Removal of fiber cement plates from the social premises of San José Obrero: 59,453.12 euros
The works have consisted of the removal of the fiber cement plates from their roof and their subsequent replacement by a tile roof and a false ceiling that will guarantee adequate insulation.
The space had poor health and sealing conditions, so an investment of 59,453.12 euros has been made.
- Work of conditioning of the place of Perín: 87,655.98 euros
It is the square with an upper area of ​​550 square meters, in which the residents of Perín make their parties and is one of the busiest in the town so its platform was very worn.
The conditioning has consisted of the renovation of the platform, the installation of lighting, perimeter fence and street furniture, as well as the replacement of vegetation.
- Rehabilitation of the Pozo Estrecho sports center: 87,578.75 euros
It consists of the integral remodeling of the four interior changing rooms that presented water leaks through the roofs, the interior tiling is detached and with fixing problems due to humidity.
- Infrastructure improvement on the running track: 54,313.03 euros
The works of the athletics track cover an area 15,577 square meters and have consisted of executing a new grass meadow suitable for sports use, as well as paving the passage area, entrance locker rooms and warehouses in poor condition, to avoid injuries and falls for this cause.
The conditions of the meadow have been improved and adapted to the sportive use of competition that currently plays, in addition to carrying out the pre-installation of the irrigation system.
- Remodeling of Las Peńas Square in La Palma: 93,269.30 euros
The works include the complete renovation of the 2,992 square meters of pavement, urban furniture, native vegetation and children's games and have resulted in a square completely adapted to the needs of people with reduced mobility, since it has been provided with a ramp that communicates one platform with another.
- Lobo Street Park in El Algar: 126,952.42 euros
The space located between Lobo and José Nondeneu streets is one of the most anticipated infrastructures for the children of the county council and stands out for both its versatility and its design, thanks to what has become known as Playmobil Park.
The park has been built on an area of ​​more than 4,800 square meters, with three spaces perfectly delimited by a walk that include, in addition to the playground, a basketball court and a terrace area with picnic tables.
This new infrastructure has a budget of 126,952.42 euros and also includes a new woodland and LED lighting.
- Cover of the civic center of the Algar: 55,836 euros
The project for the premises of El Algar includes the installation of a new roof for the patio of the civic center, which will allow the town groups to expand the spaces for socio-cultural activities.
- Constitution Square of Saint Lucia: 49,465.88 euros
It is a square with an area of ​​611 meters and more than a century of history that the City Council completely renovated, while maintaining some of the emblematic elements as the source.
The works have consisted of replacing the floor of the square with another of natural stone in white quartzite with steel details, such as the name of the square.
New LED luminaires have also been installed, garden spaces improved and new urban furniture placed.
