Ten students of the Barrios-ADLE Program are trained in masonry, painting and gardening in Los Nietos (18/12/2019)

The Social Center of Los Nietos has received on Wednesday morning December 18 the delivery of diplomas to the 10 students of the program of Neighborhoods-ADLE Los Nietos.

The event was attended by the president of the Agency for Local Development and Employment ADLE and Councilor for Employment and Enterprise of the City of Cartagena, Irene Ruiz and the ADLE manager, Fulgencio Cerón.

With this program, the ADLE intends to bring the programs that are being carried out in the field of training and employment to the neighborhoods of the municipality, this time to Los Nietos, thus facilitating the unemployed a series of actions in the field of guidance and training that improve their chances of employment, learning or expanding knowledge of a trade through training, as well as improving the urban aspect of the neighborhood.

The Councilor for Education, Employment and Business of Cartagena, Irene Ruiz, has been very satisfied with the course.

"We are very proud of all the people who have participated in this program because they have put their work and professionalism at the service of their people. The image that Los Nietos looks now is much closer to what one of our most emblematic fishing villages deserves. ".

The training that students have received has been theoretical in the classroom, where they have completed the course of prevention of occupational hazards taught by the municipal technicians of the City of Cartagena, as well as the theoretical contents of masonry, gardening and painting.

In addition, they have put into practice in their own neighborhood what they have learned in class, so they have contributed to improving their chances of accessing the labor market, while improving the urban aspect of the neighborhood.

Students have also received employment guidance such as preparing the curriculum, searching for work online, training orientation, public and private employment, and coaching.

In support of the training, they have received a grant of 10 euros per day of assistance to the training action.

10 students of the 11 students who started have finished, there has only been one withdrawal and it has been due to labor insertion in the construction sector.

The work they have done in the practical hours of the project have been:

GUARDIOLA PLAZA

Kiosk (warehouse):

Repair of sills.

Scraping, plastering and sanding interior and exterior walls.

Cantilever repair with mortar.

Removal of asphalt cover fabric.

Roof waterproofing with chlorine rubber.

Painted with white and blue coating.

Toilet, cistern and sink have been disassembled.

Toilet drain has been covered with ceramic plate.

Scratched, sanded and painted with gray forge enamel blinds and interior and exterior door.

Repair of stone benches with mortar, plaster and sanding.

Painted stone benches with ivory coating and planters with black forge enamel.

Pruning altarpieces and trees.

Scratched, sanded, and painted with yellow enamel hairpins.

FISHERMAN'S PLAZA

Repair of the monument to the fisherman, plaster and sanding.

Once the program is finished, the students' curricula will be incorporated into the ADLE Placement Agency database.
