On the occasion of Christmas 2019, the Tomás Luis de Victoria Choir will offer three concerts this December in the Church of San Antonio María Claret, Santo Domingo and in the Plaza de San Sebastián.
These activities have the collaboration of the Department of Culture of the City of Cartagena.
The first concert will take place next Friday, December 20, at 7 pm, in the Church of San Antonio María Claret (Los Padres).
In the sung mass, the Quarti Toni Mass of Tomas Luis de Victoria will be performed: Kirie, Gloria, Santus, Benedictus, Agnus Dei, in addition to Motetes of several authors during the celebration.
Subsequently, in the carol concerts, works of the Renaissance, Baroque, Romanticism and S.XX by several authors will be performed: Pretorius, TML.de Victoria, FA Gevaert, J. Rutter, Leontovich, Mendelson, in addition to popular carols from various eras .
At the same time, on December 28, in the Plaza de San Sebastián, and on the 29th, in the Church of Santo Domingo, the same songs and scores will be performed.
ABOUT THE CORAL TOMÁS LUIS DE VICTORIA
The Coral Mass Tomás Luis de Victoria began its activities in 1945, being consolidated as a choir in the spring of 1946. He has performed his repertoire throughout Spain and also by Italy, Belgium (Europalia 1985), Germany (275th Anniversary of the Foundation of the Port of Duisburg in 1991), France (International Festival of Villers sur Mer - Normandy in 1992) and Andorra (2009).
The Tomás Luis de Victoria Choir has recorded six albums with Spanish Renaissance music (profane and religious), Christmas carols from the different Spanish Autonomous Communities, Marian works from the Region of Murcia and foreign madrigals.
