UPCT students represent a children's Christmas comedy to collect toys and food (11/12/2019)

Food or toys is the symbolic price of the “solidarity entrance” to see the Christmas play 'The Spirit of Holly', which represents the UPCT Theater Classroom this Thursday, December 12, in the University Auditorium, to 7:30 p.m.

'The spirit of holly', written by an Architecture student, Ana Mara Martn Ortega and directed by Pedro Alejandro Villalba, is a children's comedy that takes viewers into a Christmas dinner in which the family gathers around the Memory of Cata, the maternal grandmother.

Free entrance.

The spectators can make their donation (food or toys) at a table installed in the main access to the Paraninfo.

The solidarity collection will be added to the one sponsored by the UPCT students.

At the end of the work, lasting one hour, the actors will share croquettes and marzipan with the spectators.

The characters are interpreted by students from the different centers, from the University of the Elderly and from the PAS.

The actors of the Theater Classroom, promoted by the Vice Chancellor for Students, University Extension and Sports, rehearse on Mondays, from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Student House from the beginning of the course.

This is the third year that they represent a solidarity show at Christmas.

Argument

Miki the protagonist is a girl who decides to stay awake on Christmas Eve to see the spirit of the mistletoe, by a legend told by her grandmother Cata.

There is the whole family and little by little they join him to try to discover the spirit.

When everyone falls asleep, the spirit appears, and Miki only sees her shadow but is happy.
