The FICC closes its 48th edition (29/11/2019)

The Cartagena International Film Festival closes its 48th edition on Saturday, November 30, in Hall A of the El Batel Auditorium.

The closing ceremony begins at 8:30 p.m., with awards given to the different sections of the festival.

This event will be attended by the mayor of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón, the councilor of the area of ​​Culture, Youth and Equality, David Martínez, of the area of ​​Public Safety, Public Road and Celebrations, Juan Pedro Torralba and the delegate of the area of Heritage and Contracting, María Amoraga.

In the Official Short Film Section, the Silver Caravel Awards for Best Short Film will be announced, with € 3,000, as well as the Peral Submarine Awards for Best Direction, Best Performance, Best Screenplay and Best Photography.

In the Murcine Section, dedicated to the work of the filmmakers of the Region of Murcia, the Carabela de Plata awards for the Best Regional Short Film, with € 1,500, and the Peral Submarine for the Second Best Regional Short Film, with € 500 will be revealed.

Alfonso Albacete, one of the best film directors and screenwriters in our country, will receive the FICC48 Award, an award with which the festival recognizes and rewards the work of filmmakers from the Region of Murcia who stand out most in the world of cinema.

The FICC Award for Cinematic Diffusion, which is presented in this edition for the first time, goes to La Verdad newspaper.

This award highlights the work of the media committed to the dissemination of cinema and film culture.

The Young Jury, formed by students of the Polytechnic University of Cartagena UPCT, will choose their favorite film from the Feature Films Section.

In addition, the members of the short film 'DALAM', from the Ruiz de Alda Institute, will receive the € 500 prize in audiovisual material for their center after having won the Best Short Film Award in the Young Amateur section.

After the awards ceremony, the Poolshake group will perform live 'Sick & Tired', the song that has been the soundtrack of the FICC48.

Next, the French film 'Specials', directed by Olivier Nakache and Éric Toledano, an outstanding tandem of filmmakers who have already worked together on several films, including the international hit 'Untouchable'.

In 'Specials' they tell the story of Stephane Benhamou and Daoud Tatou, two friends who 20 years ago created a non-profit company to help children suffering from severe cases of autism.

Tickets for the closing of the festival are on sale at the El Batel Auditorium box office, this Friday and Saturday, from 10 am to 9 pm uninterruptedly, at € 7, € 5 and € 3.
