More than 700 athletes will tour the Algar to fight against cancer (29/11/2019)

This Sunday, December 1, the Second Race and Urban March 'Move Life' is celebrated in El Algar.

The 700 participants in this sporting event will travel five kilometers through the town center of this town.

The City Council of Cartagena collaborates in this event with the support of the Department of Sports.

All benefits will go to the Spanish Association Against Cancer.

The test will begin at 11 am from the Philippines Avenue, located next to the José María Serrano Meseguer Parish Park in El Algar.

The Councilor for Social Services of Cartagena, Mercedes García, presented the event this Friday, November 29, accompanied at the press conference by the treasurer of the Trail Running Club El Algar, Antonio Javier Núñez, and by the president of the delegation of The Algar of the Spanish Association Against Cancer, María del Carmen Pérez Peñalver.

The mayor said that this race “involves the participation and collaboration of an entire people in a cause that is as important as this.

On the other hand, the benefits obtained from this march go to the Spanish Association Against Cancer in its delegation from El Algar â€.

In addition, García has emphasized that this town has one of the most participatory headquarters of the AECC.

The test consists of a journey of more than five kilometers through the urban area of ​​El Algar.

There will be a unique category where 700 runners will participate from the age of 16.

The marchers have no age limit, as it is a non-competitive modality.

Of course, participants under 16 in the marching category must present a parental authorization when picking up the number according to the model set out in the annex to the regulations of the event.

For security reasons, the participation of runners who do not have a bib number will not be allowed.

The treasurer of the Trail Running of El Algar, Antonio Javier Núñez, detailed that after the test, the organization will deliver a plate of crumbs for all participants.

In addition, he says that “approximately 12,000 euros will be raised this year between the contributions of the sponsors and the inscriptions that have been made.

From all the proceeds, approximately 6,000 euros will be left for the Spanish Association Against Cancer â€.

The president of the AECC delegation in El Algar, has been very grateful for the support of the City Council of Cartagena, the Trail Running Club of El Algar, volunteers and sponsors.
