On November 20, TRANS Memory Day, the documentary Resistencia Trans will be screened in the Cultural Classroom of the Caja Mediterráneo Foundation.
The activity is organized by the LGTBI Association "GALACTYCO Collective" of Cartagena and Comarca.
Resistencia Trans is a production by Barret Cooperativa, authors of the documentary about the Valencia metro accident, "The strategy of silence", in collaboration with the Lambda collective.
The documentary focuses on the story of two trans women, Gloria and Carmen, with very different biographies but marked by the same struggle.
It also gives voice to other people involved in the fight for trans rights, including a young generation that continues the struggle of veterans, expressing themselves freely through social networks.
It is the chronicle of a historical moment and of a society that begins to raise awareness
In the words of the director, Clà udia Reig: "This documentary is, above all, an intimate portrait of two trans women who have had to fight stigma and discrimination, in order to be themselves and perform as people. An approach to their stories vital in a given time "
The producer has opted for a simultaneous premiere on various platforms, which will offer the public various options.
Also on November 8 will be screened at the Cineteca in Madrid, in the official section of the LesGaiCineMad festival.
And a series of projections in LGTB rooms and groups in various cities, including Cartagena, have been scheduled in collaboration with the LGTB State Federation.
The screening has subtitles adapted for deaf people.
The documentary that has the backing of the Valencian Institute of Culture, has been selected in various LGBT-themed festivals in Latin America, France and Germany.
The screening will begin at 7:00 p.m. and admission is free until capacity is reached.
