The Mar de Musicas Festival, collects the Ondas Award for Best festival in Spain with Sonorama Ribera and Concert Music (13/11/2019)

This Thursday, November 14, the Grand Gala of the 66th edition of the 2019 Waves Awards will take place, at the Gran Teatre del Liceu, where the Wave of Music of the Ondas Award for Best festival in Spain will be delivered to La Mar de Musicas, an ex aequo prize with the Sonorama Ribera festivals of Aranda de Duero and the Concert Music Festival of Sancti Petri in Chiclana de la Frontera.

The Mar de Musicas de Cartagena, the Sonorama Ribera de Aranda de Duero and the Concert Music Festival of Sancti Petri in Chiclana de la Frontera are the three events awarded with the Ondas de Música award in the category of best show, tour or festival.

In the case of La Mar de Música, the jury of the 66th edition of these awards, failed in Barcelona, ​​stressed that "it has been positioning Cartagena on the map of 'world music' since 1995, focusing its proposal on countries of the five continents, and accompanying the concerts with exhibitions, colloquiums, workshops, activities for children and with the desire to decentralize the music and move it from a single stage and bring it closer to the neighborhoods ".

The prize will be collected by the mayor of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón, and the director of La Mar de Música, José Luis Cegarra.

With this award, the jury wanted to "personalize this award in three proper names that, each in its own style and with its own idiosyncrasy, mark the music agenda in this country."

In many cases, according to the jury of the Ondas awards "the celebration of these festivals has come to articulate annually the social, cultural and economic life of an entire region, revitalizing rural areas and curbing the isolation of the 'empty Spain'".

The winners of the Ondas awards will receive the prize from the hands of 10 great radio and television professionals such as Iñaki Gabilondo, Tony Aguilar, Pepa Fernández, Rosa Mª Calaf, Mª Teresa Campos, Juanra Bonet, Josep Cuní, Rosa Mª Mateo, Luis del Olmo and Julia Otero.

During the morning, the meeting with the media and the family photo of the winners will take place at the Albéniz Palace.

In the afternoon, the winners and different personalities will meet on the red carpet of the Gran Teatre del Liceu where the Grand Gala of the awards ceremony will be held.

The ceremony can be followed live in streaming through the website www.cadenaser.com, as well as in the social networks of the Cadena SER and Ondas Awards (Twitter: @Premios_Ondas).

These awards, which have the official support of the European Broadcasting Union (EBU), are a privileged observatory of Spanish and international audiovisual sector talent.
