Professional divers and volunteers will participate this Saturday in the cleaning of the seabed of Cabo de Palos (07/11/2019)

Garbage and polluting elements are notoriously affecting the health of the seas and their ecosystems.

Cabo de Palos has a Nature Reserve that must be taken care of.

For this reason, the Federation of Underwater Activities of the Region of Murcia (FASRM) has organized for this Saturday, November 9, a cleaning of the seabed, with the collaboration of the City of Cartagena, which will provide several containers where pollutants extracted from the sea, and other organizations and institutions such as the Naranjito Diving Club, Ecoembes or the Spanish Federation of Underwater Activities with its 'Solidarity Bubbles' program.

The objective of this initiative, in which 6 ships with 150 volunteers will participate, in addition to cleaning for the protection of the Cabo de Palos reserve, is to make people and institutions aware of the need to prevent and prevent these polluting elements from being thrown into the sea and gradually kill life in the area.

At 11 am, the team of professional and volunteer divers will meet at the Naranjito Diving Club to leave, subsequently, towards the coves to make the dives.

At one in the afternoon, the boats will return to the port to discharge waste and make a second departure with the corresponding dives and collection of more waste.

At the same time, volunteers on foot will carry out a coast cleaning on Levante Beach.

The activity will end with a paella for all attendees.
